Fun with Fruit - Shooting Watermelon

I was wondering what the difference would be between the 45acp and the 357mag shooting a watermelon. The results were surprising to say the least. This video was a blast to make!

First off, your intro gets an 11 out 10. I got a good laugh out of that. However, the difference between the two water mellon ruptures appears to be the angle of penetration more than anything. Also consider no two watermellons are exactly the same consitancy, shape, and weight. This is where balistic gellatin shines. Pretty much all .357 loads produce more energy than .45 ACP. Try it again with gellatin, and see what you get, if you can.

@slt223 I shot from the same spot into the watermelons but I picked them up on the side of the road from a stand. They weren't all the same. And I believe my revolver needs to be sighted in better. The 1911 was built custom and the aim is perfect for me, so it produced a better shot I think.

I have been plannoing on doing a video on ballistic gell and all the various rounds I can get my hands on to do testing of all of them. My time has been very limited this year, but it is in the wroks.
