Anyone who listened to FM radio in the early 70s will remember this one. Wicked keyboards. Scary lyrics. Is that why it has never been released to CD? Probably metaphorical. Those were strange days. You may want to check out his new music which is available at cdbaby.com under his own name and as Miguelito Pistoleros. There are some rather interesting vids here on youtube posted by jackabbott82 also.

I been looking for this song online for a long time. I remember being 15 back in KC, listening to KBEY-FM at night in my bedroom.
Finally found it.
Thanks Bud,

Heard this on WMON in Montgomery WV. When that station finally died (it's now a completely automated gospel station) they pitched all the old vinyl that was stashed away, and I got the disc by being there. Somewhere between Rick Wakeman and Terry Riley. There were a lot of weird songs in those days: The Buoys "Timothy", Bloodrock's "DOA", and this nightmare were the ominous tip of the iceberg.

I was on air as a DJ\program director in the fall of 1972 with a small station in Henderson, KY. The night time programming from 7 pm to Midnight sign off was progressive rock. "Pete" was a often played cut back then. My copy of the album disappeared many years ago, I am pleased it has been posted. While the word are troubling the keyboards are still astounding. Perlitch did all the keyboards himself.

I came late to the game so I missed this one.
Good stuff. The 'up-tights' in radio today would probably be scared as hell to play it.

Grew up in Phoenix listening to what was the first underground FM station started by Bill Compton, KDKB. This was played by what I believe were some of the greatest DJ's a teenager could grow up with.

I remember Compton too, but he also had KCAC 1510 AM before his gig on KDKB and before KCAC he was actually on KRUX 1360 AM for a show on Sunday nights called KRUX Underground.

Yeah, I remember both the KRUX show and KCAC. I think KNIX was a progressive free-form station for a while too during those early days...

Yeah, finally!, someone has posted a copy of 'Pete' so I don't have to dig mine out of storage. For years I've checked youtube and the web occasionally for this and some other obscure items. I still have two unopened copies of this that I bought new at either Billy Budget or Evolution in Tempe (I'm dating myself here). And trmulligan was probably listening to KCAC or the old (real, with WEC,III) KDKB way back when.
Great stuff...

Ha! you're dating me too as I remember most of this also...

Heard this for the first time on an underground Mesa, AZ station in the early 70's....great radio back then. Picked up the album at Zia Records in Tempe a few years later. Great Stuff!

Yeah, I spent big bucks in the Phx store early on. And those early days of free form radio were pretty exciting.
