I drank it all! This breed is named for Bourbon County, Kentucky, where they were first developed around 1890. First the were called Bourbon Butterballs but that name did not appeal to farmers at the time. Bet it would fly today!
@5tonyvvvv I would pay up to a buck an egg, but only if the are guaranteed to be fertile. Fertility is a big problem with these birds, probably because of the small gene pool. Good luck, I hope you get some good hatches.
@Pameladragon i have raised them before..i make arrows and use the feathers for fletching..its a shame the gene pool is not so great..why does man ruin everything..how about geese?..know anything about them?..i have tried swans beautiful bird,to expensive and no guarantee of healthy birds.and they take to long to grow and hatch...oh well ill just stick to chickens..
@5tonyvvvv Geese are very easy, especially the domestic ones, and cheap. Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys are also available, cheap, and look very much like wild turkeys. Check Google for sources, lots of places sell young birds cheap and ship by US Mail.
