This fire came so close to us and when we were evacuating the sky was black and all I could hear were sirens and choppers. Thanks so much to the guys and gals in the cfa - I cant express my gratitude for saving our home.

i knew this fire was bad when i saw a; sunbury, albury wodonga, new south wales and cranbourne firetrucks racing down burwood highway lol

i had to evacuate this. it was scary. as we were leaving the house about 15 fire trucks came driving past, firemen were coming to our house yelling at us to get out, it was dark and smoky. just really scary shit.

We could see the fire from Monbulk, and as we were coming home into Belgrave, we could see the smoke cloud and the sky was a thick brown.

I would personally like to thank the CFA and all the firefighters for the amazing work they have done with battling all the fires, in particular the Nixon Road fire. My sister in law and husband live in Belgrave and this fire had us worried due to the close proximity to residential areas. We live in NZ, but with the CFA site we can keep an eye of how things are going. Really appreciate all your great work. Keep it up!! Cheers
