Transformers: The Real Megatron (Voice)

The new Transformers movie, in my humble opinion, could have went from good to great if only it had some "tweaks" made to it. This is one of them. They did such a great job with Optimus Prime. I only wish they would have done the same with Megatron. Michael Bay reduced Megatron into a primative oaf that makes lame statements like "I smell you boy!" Instead, THIS is what he should have sounded like!

As much as i like Hugo Weaving as actor, he realy sucked as Megatron.

Hugo makes Megatron sound like he is some sort of devil and that's not what he is. Megatron is ruthless leader

They should have used David Kaye, he was perfect Megatron in animated series.

i think Frank Welker new sinister Megatron voice is better then the old G1 one.

Maybe I'm just stuck in the old school, but I loved Frank Welker as Megatron. He just seemed to sinister and ruthless, but he could also pull off that deceptive and ultimately groveling voice when Megatron needed to really scramble for his life. Another part of it though is the filters. The voice filters are used so extensively that they're an inseparable part of the character, and changing that can produce a very different result.

I gotta admit that prefer Hugo Weaving as Megatron. I think Frank Welker worked in the cartoon but as an action movie I believe you need a deeper and more powerful voice. Also I do not think Hugo Weaving gives a more devil-like sound but just a tougher voice. But then again that's just my opinion.

I loved Hugo Weaving as Megatron, he sounded ancient, ruthless and in-charge like the character is supposed to be.

No they are not good enough reasons. Sentinel Prime was always loyal to autobots from beginging till his death. Hell he sacrificed his life on Cybertron so he could save Optimus and passed him his matrix + he would never made deal with Decepticons, never. Jetfire was treated like shit, robots don't get old, what was he doing in that museum is beyond me and he was never a Decepticon. Jetfire was the first Autobot Lieutenant. As for problem 3 that was just lame and lazy writing.
