Super Mario Galaxy - Red Power Star (Gateway's Purple Coins)

In addition to the Green Stars, there is a red one too.

When I recovered a certain Grand Star, It activated lines-- one over to that gate (which so happens to be where the game started). It unfolds from there

A Red Luma you talk to doesn't trust you. So it wants you to use a Red Star to fly around and collect 100 Purple Coins. Seems pretty simple... until you try it.

Flying Mario is awesome. Not only can you fly around freely (well somewhat), but when you spin, you draw nearby coins and Starbits to Mario. Just a shame the use of this power up is so very limited.

Why'd you do the triple jump at the beginning? An homage to Mario 64?

Also, do you know where you can actually use the red star? (In a galaxy I mean, not at the main area)

I guess you can call it that, heh heh.

The Flying Mario can only be used in the Gateway and the Observatory. Other than these two places, not a single one of these Red Star power-ups can be found.

It's a darn shame too. Some Purple Comets would have been PERFECT for this type of thing.

When you get access to the Garden, this path opens up.

i fucking miss this game so much. i traded in my wii for an xbox 360, and the 360's all great and such, but sometimes i consider re-buying a wii JUST for this game.

lol-this so definitely beats super mario 64's flying winged ability-hold A in mid0air to stay still and you can still float-it lets you aim where you're gonna go. put +1 if you agree with red star gloves are better then winged cap. Because if u don't wear a hat you cant fly. put -1 uf you disagree. But if you say -1 reply to me but don't put the obvious reasons-like using it in levels.. :-(

@ProkoLokor EXACTLY. But Rosalina appears at the very end of the Daredevil Comet of Grandmaster Galaxy.. But after that there's nothing left to do!
