Building a World First - BC Place 2011

BC Place is British Columbia's iconic venue for concerts, consumer shows and sporting events. In April 2010, BC Place will undergo a revitalization that will change the Vancouver skyline for generations, including the largest retractable roof of its kind in the world.
A complex method of construction has been devised, where individual masts up to 142 tons each masts will be balanced using temporary structures and cables until the last piece is in place, and the tension is engaged across the huge cable system. For more information, visit www.bcplace.com

No new seats no reason for that. It all ready holds 60 thousand people. More then enough for Soccer or CFL.

@TMW1990 the hole in the roof is 100 metres wide, so like the size of the playing surface

There better be new seats. All these videos show the hole in the roof being quite small, smaller than the field of play. It better not be or it is a complete waste of 1/2 billion dollars.
