DORSAL SLAP - The foresection is elevated above the surface with the ventrum uppermost and dropped backward, landing noisly on the dorsum. Occasionally, the animal will emerge in a dorsal or lateral position and rotate on the long axis before dropping back. The end of the tailstock may be kicked out from under the body before landing.
