Thousands...Not Billions

Radioisotope dating has become the standard method for estimating the age of the Earth. Yet, the millions and billions of years estimated by this method conflicts with the thousands of years that the Bible indicates to be the age of the Earth. An eight-year research project designed to explore the claims of radioisotope dating for an old earth and to offer a young-earth alternative will be completed by the Institute for Creation Research and the Creation Research Society in 2005. The RATE project has found several major pieces of evidence that radioisotope dating is in error by a factor of many orders of magnitude and rocks commonly thought to be billions of years old may only be thousands of years old. This talk summarizes the project and discusses its major findings.

@gregrutz Are you kidding me? The time scale of the Earth was changed to FIT the Evolutionary theory of how the live on Earth began and evolved. Charles Darwin was a Christian himself, but became futile towards his religion when his daughter died. Clearly! He were experiencing emotional problems which made him attempt to remove God from his theory. During the Modernistic movements, these fallacies became truth.

The web site talkorigins addresses the problem with finding carbon 14 in coal as possible fungi and bacteria contamination. However they admit this is a hypothesis and “research is ongoing.” The talkorigins article was from 2002, so has there been any progress, or is “research is ongoing” the only answer?

@AndyG792 It's not about indocrination, it's about fact! Unfortunately creationists can't come to deal with that and so have to come with this plot that everyone is being brainwashed by someone into evolution. Quite frankly, don't you think it is odd that you, an uneducated person in this area believes in this theory, whilst all the experts another? Creation has no scientific basis whatsoever, hence why no scientific paper have been written on it EVER.

@TheGamanic that depends on how indoctrinated a person is in evolution. I truly believe if you or any other person would honestly think through both scientific evidences for evolution and creation, instead of being closed minded to the creation evidences, you will see that the evidences for creation is a lot more viable. It's a lot more scientific and not as conjectural. as evolution is. the RATE project predicted correctly as to where the graph would fall before they got the results back.

@TheDarkLordLucifer you are praying to the wrong person. Satan does not give love nor peace. I read the end of the book and know how it turns out. I hope you would open your mind and truly think things through. God does not want anyone to to be cast in the lake of fire, that is why the Bible says that He waits for people to reent and turn to him because, He loves you so much that He sent His Son to take the punishment for all of our sins. It's free, all you have to do is accept salvation.

@irishbarrycooper I guess I would say that would it be the fact that all those separate disciplines of science fit together to give a coherent picture of world history which is only explicable through evolution. For example the fossil record fits perfectly with genetic differences. This cannot be explained by biblical creation without resorting to ridiculous explanations, which you no doubt believe in
