How ever imperfect the decision making was in 1707 (parcel of rogues etc) It was people looking for economic advancement that pushed it through, the same thougnts will be in peoples minds again (much wider franchise though!) Remember the union spawned the greatest empire ever (for good or ill but it did abolish slavery) With Scotsmen running much of it, we spread our democratic ideals.

@WAXY950 Quick history lesson Che,The Scots came from Ireland after the Roman occupation and took Scotland for themselves ( Lothian from the Anglo Saxons 11th century) A Scottish king took the throne of both Kingdoms to form UK 17th century. The parliaments were united 18th century.Unlike Wales and Ireland Scotland was never conquered (invaded and occupied certainly but she coudn't be held) I'm not going to touch the religious wars! She has always punched above her size,so not slaves!

He was in korea, with the canadians, shot, lost a finger, lost his mind for good this time. got malaria, was lost to his family for ever, and he was one that made it home. please remember if these men do not go to war, the country will be lost, as the enemy will not stop in their country, dictators want to rule the world. they will keep fighting till they are taking our country. that is why our men go to other countries. to keep them from taking over the world. we are not just interferring.

my father fought side by side,a canadian Black Watch soldier, offered his life to help stop hitler, not caring if he had to dawn a different uniform to do so, he was one of the 623 Canloan officers sent to help the British, and help he did. He was barely 20, he fought hard until July 11, 1944, was injured, found under two dead bodies, thought to be dead also. He kept begging them to return him to his unit at the front lines. they could not, as he was so lost, 36 days straight fighting no sleep.
