  • A great radio. I finished building mine. It works, but only on three or four Bands. I am going to use a Resonant Antenna to perhaps improve reception on all 9 Bands.

  • @fenech97 Glad it is working for you! Yes I agree that a purpose built antenna will dramatically improve reception for a particular frequency (i.e. dipole total wire length in feet, L = 468/f(MHz).; or in meters L = 0.95*150/f(MHz) and fed in center with coaxial cable, where f(MHz) is the frequency in MHz. You probably know, but others may also find it interesting, that various bands only "open" on certain times of day -- and are even influenced by the eleven year sun-spot cycle! 73 de NG9D

  • where can i buy one and the price? Steve

  • Is it possiable to connect the OHR DD-1 to this receiver? If so where would it connect to?

  • @ohiohamguy ... humm... don't know. Sounds like a fun project! Thanks for the idea!! 73 de NG9D . .

  • very poor video focus you waste my time

  • @staniz4 thanks for your comment. The radio kit is electrically simple if you can solder. It takes a bit of patience to assemble the mechanical components. And the completed radio will work well on each of the 9 bands if resonant antennas are used. 73 de NG9D

  • Hello im glad to see such an avid radio fan. I was just wondering how hard it is for a real armature to put together this receiver along with how hard it is to set up an antennae and getting it in working order. A response as soon as possible would be great, thank you

  • Hi Lyn,

a really great video and a really great radio. I saw this video first and bought me one of these amazing tt 1253 receiver in eBay afterwards, but without any power supply and manual/description. I'd like to know if there is the plus pole centered in the power connector or is the plus pole around (ground) the connector. I'd be very glad to get some feedback of you. My email adress is on my qrz website.
