Augusta Georgia Civic Center, 1980. All local band front persons where there at the direction of the General Manager of the Country music station. WGUS Casey Jenkins was the country Guru. From the stage we were all introduced. The opening, Conway Twitty, " It s Only Make Believe" then in the middle when he reached the crescendo, the music stopped! The he said, " Hello Darlin". The damn place went crazy. 90 minutes later after his song, the man took up Beleive where he left off. Perfection.

Conway will always be missed. However there have been a few lately to try and sing his song, I have to say not one of them can make a gal "cream her Jeans' as Conway could.

I wish I could have seen the show. I wish they would create another performance. Not many people where I live even knew about the production. My only complaint the crew or marketing dept. did not advertise as well as they should have. I'm sorry I missed it!!
