My tribute to Bill Chinnock, my friend and musical mentor. I played in Bill's band from 2005-2007 until his very last show. He was an indescribably good musician and an equally good person. I miss you, Bill. The photos are just what I had on my laptop that I have permission to use in this video, taken at his live shows. Piano= Taylor Mesple. Tenor Saxophone= Darren Rahn from "Instrumental Prayers and Reflections Volume 1". Used by permission.

  • I remember Bill best from the Red Barn days when Sammy was on Sax...Never missed a show.He was so loved.Such a raw and beautiful talent with so much spirit and energy sometimes yoou'd wonder why he didnt explode right there on stage. I really like what you put together here, thanks for sharing it...Peace

  • i remember going to his concert back in the 80's at the northern maine forumn he was the opening act such raw power and talent i was hooked still listen to them, cant remember the main act, rip bill and thank you for the music

  • A dear being Billy Chinnock.

  • Thanks for putting together this tribute to a musician who never received the acclaim he should have. The original "Badlands" (not the horrible Atlantic version!) and "Dime Store Heroes" are two of my favorite albums of all time- period. I was lucky enough to first meet Bill in those days, and even though we were never close friends, he always made me feel like one whenever I saw him over the rest of his life. I miss him and his music a lot. "So many dreams have been wasted." Indeed.

  • I saw Bill play several times, but his best gigs were always those in gritty blue-colllar times like Rumford, at the Barn Board, or at the Solon Hotel. Heart felt tunes sung with feeling. He would drive the locals nuts.

    Rest in peace, Bill.

  • what agreat song .why dont we hre this great ledgend from me on FM WBLM OR FRANK 107.5 WHY ?

  • I am amazed someone remembers that show. I put that on with a mutual friend name Paul Hartmann. I owed a club on Main St in Asbury Park called T-Birds. It was an unplugged club. Everybody stopped in there. I met the owner of the Cricket club, a BIG polish hang out in Irvington, Les. He asked me to put a couple of shows and Danny and Billy were up to it. Les was a trumpet player from Poland who played with Wings.

    What a night.

  • saw him play a frat party at UMO once in 78 or so, he really rocked the joint! .. 'Is there a man in the house? Is there a MAN in the house?!!!" RIP

  • Started listening to Bill in the Mid 80's When Rock N Roll Cowboys and Learning to Survive were out. Caught him at the Stone Pony on Several occasions. Last time I saw him was the Reformation of the Downtown Tangiers band with Danny Federici in 1992 At the Cricket Club in Irvington, NJ. I was hanging with Danny's son Jason at the time..Went backstage and had a great time. I cant believe Both Danny + Bill are gone. Thank God I got a chance to share some precious time with them. RIP

  • Maybe the only musician my dad and I liked together - at the same time! Sad to know he's gone, happy to have known his music. Used to catch him at some shack out in the woods near Bangor (the Red Barn?). Glad to know he was well loved.
