Hidden from the Night is an experimental documentary from filmmakers Jasmine Hetherington-Wilkes and Adam Neale.

Mixing Super 8 and DV footage to create a colourful portrait of Brighton in the summer, Jasmine wonders how her home town sees her, and reminisces on some of her most vivid memories from growing up in such a unique place. Using herself, her siblings and characters from around Brighton she investigates the notion of self and public perception.

The film explores the convenient definitions that people place on us when they take a cursory glance in our direction, and how those perceptions are influenced by the individual city that you find yourself in. The film also looks at Jasmine's opinions about the changing nature of Brighton and how it has influenced who she is today.

A moving score by Brighton-based musician Simon Hill, accompanies the film.
