It's new because most people have never heard of it and because it would be a new system for BC. You're arguing for something irrelevant anyways.
It's exciting because it's a refreshing take on politics, one which is different than the status quo systems which only represent a small fraction of the population

Uhm First off I really don't like how this is being portrayed as a "new" system of voting. STV has been around since the 1800's learn about what you're voting for.
The concept of transferable voting was first proposed by Thomas Wright Hill in 1821. The system remained unused in real elections until 1855, when Carl Andræ proposed a transferable vote system for elections in Denmark.
How is something that was first proposed in the 1800's new and exciting for voters now.
