I'm sure there would have been an uproar from the "purists" had you won. Anyway these contests are always highly biased. You played well as expected and every bit of it blues. To call this not blues would be like saying Satriani doesn't play the blues.

my buddy and bandmate won that. he was the guy right after you. You sound great but i'm sure you didn't win because the judges probably decided you didn't play "blues". it was more fusion.
