Watch in amazement as Farrah Shipley's Texas kindergarteners sizzle through a lesson on compound words. Especially note the five step WBT lesson plan they follow: Question, Answer with gesture, Expansion, Tests (Yes-No Way and QT) and Critical Thinking. Farrah demonstrates a host of WBT techniques: Class-Yes, Teach-Okay, Mirror, Mirror-Words, Switch, Scoreboard, Hands and Eyes, Papers-Papers-Papers, Example Popper and more!

  • I would like to start implementing WBT more. I tried a few things this year like but I was a little hung up about the score board and I feel like that's what really kept me from fully implementing it like I should.

I read your blog post where you talk about 20 stars = a big reward... but what about the everyday reward? If they "beat" you at the end of the day, what happens?

  • Farrah,

Thank you so much for blogging about you WBT experience! You are inspiring!

  • Love it! Excellent use of WBT lesson plan. Wonderful pacing!
