u failed at ur project - sorry mate, but if u wanted to build the best slot1 machine, u should have baught a mainboard with two slot 1 sockets, so u could use it as a dual core - i know what im talking about, because my father has a dual core slot one machine with 1.5 gig of ram and 500gb hdd (controlled by scsi controllers). just the gpu isnt that good

You could also try to get a geforce 7600gt agp 3.3v. Those aren't easy to get, the geforces 7600gs agp 3.3v are a little easier to get!

Congratulations on your project guru!
I love the ideia of the project as i did the same myself!
The one thing my system would best yours is on the cpu. You could get a Pentium III tualatin 1.4ghz. Those Are really really great cpus, they match pentium 2ghz on many benchmarks!
As for the videocard, the fx card might be slighty better, but in the end you will only pick the best one after a few 3dmarks and some game benchmarks.
But the geforce fx card is my bet on this one.
