Everyone shared a beautiful day and very sweet parade in Duncan, Oklahoma. Supporters waved flags as the military band marched to the beat. The soldiers were inspiring to youngsters allowing them to climb up into the huge military trucks and take hold of the wheel. And, a parade in Oklahoma wouldn't be right without tractors chugging down main. I met one man that had served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was frail, but strong in spirit. Many thanks to him and all that have and are serving this beautiful nation. Now I am off to enjoy some fried green tomatoes. Have fun. Valera

  • I love small town parades, the biggest reason are the people that are so enthusiastic and dedicated to participating in them. There's one in Carnegie called the Canna festival that the townspeople will get up at 5am and pick Canna's to decorate for their parade. It will be interesting to see how future generations carry the torch if it's still burning.
