Muk Yan Jong Multiple Martial Art Wooden Man Dummy Set

The Muk Yan Jong set is performed against a wooden dummy which is a thick wooden post with five arms and a leg mounted on a wood pillar like a telephone pole that is representing a stationary human opponent. Although representative of a human opponent, the dummy is not a physical representation of a human. Wooden dummy practice aims to refine a practitioner's understanding of angles, positions, and footwork, and to develop full body power. It is here that the open hand forms are pieced together and understood as a whole.

@ deepashtray...you are welcome. this wooden man form is a nice one and as my Sifu demonstrates it is applicable to different styles of gung fu as well as other arts such as kali-escrima. i have worked on other wooden man and they are superb also but this wooden man is like working with a heavy bag.\ wheras others may be more like the speed bag or top-and-bottom bag.
