Dec. 21st, 1991: my half-sis turned 21 that night and I recall looking at a total lunar eclipse, so the night sky was exciting too. The graphics, audio quality and lightning isn't good from today's standards. Prevue used to also air local commercials and the first informercials, which kept TV stations going on 24/7 and a waste of time, energy or money (LoL). +

Yes "Just what I was looking for". This music brings back memories I used to fall asleep to this music in my room.

whit why am my watching this ?

Of course, you don't really need this anymore, with cable systems that have a built in channel/program guide (which offers advantages such as being able to view what's on a week from now) but I watch it for the nostalgia value. And, I don't care what people say about black backgrounds being, as webpagesthatsucks puts it, er shall I shall (I kinda forget) flamboyant trying to look "cool" arrogant perhaps, I like black backgrounds

You know, actually I thought maybe Stone Cold Steve Austin (before I learned who he really was) was the guy from the Stone Cold movie (at first)

do you have any prevue guide clips from miami?

@gvk9r Not sure, you can check out the wikipedia article. I had prevue guide, not EPM back in 90 til 93

@spiniton what does time shared mean? Maybe you mean when it would say channel 15A and 15B, I remember one of our remote controls had an A and B button, but channels weren't split into 2 on our cable system.

Hmm...those "HBO" and such ads were not done in the normal Prevue software, because they use the standard 1.3 Amiga font called "Topaz". If the Prevue software had generated the text, it would be in the same font as the listings. This means that this particular cable company did that type of ads as full graphics instead of letting Prevue handle it. Interesting.

image waking up the next morning and finding this on cable television
If you have more Prevue or Sneak Prevue (the PPV barker), please post it. This brings back so many memories.

I have some Sneak Prevue clips from the old Time Warner Home Theater/Time Warner PPV days. I just have to take the time to rummage through some old tapes to see.
FYI, this is the only clip I have right now of the old Prevue Guide that I know of.

I remember this lineup. And don't forget, you have to subtract one channel number for a cable-ready TV. This practice lives on in Memphis, which may be one of the only cable systems left with THREE separate analog channel lineups.

We have two, if you take into consideration that SmartLink has been absorbed into the whole Digital Cable thing (hence the reason all of the old SmartLink boxes are no longer used). And then you have municipalities outside of Memphis that have their own channel lineups, so it may be more than three lineups. Rabbit ears don't count, IMO.
