This is perhaps one of the worlds first demonstrations of the 1.5Ghz OMAP4460 running in a fully optimized Honeycomb Tablet. Archos is releasing the Turbo 1.5Ghz in January 2012 worldwide starting at $399 MSRP (actual retail price may be as low as $369 I guess, based on the 1Ghz Archos 101 G9 being now sold for $339 and the 1Ghz Archos 80 G9 being sold at $269.) The price difference between the 1Ghz and 1.5Ghz Archos G9 tablets is supposed to be about $30.

  • It is not always about processor..but also about RAM and that is 512MB only...

  • @shawtdusanshawt RAM does little to no difference in Android. Memory bandwidth is the most important, and the OMAP4460 has the fastest memory bandwidth on the market.

  • still i say prime is better. its a tegra 3 has 1.4GHZ in single core and1.3GHZ in multi-core. it has a quad core and a fifth core for running back ground process. and 10 finger multi touch. super IPS display and gorilla glass scratch resistance and a longer battery life of 12 hours and 18 with dock. Ultra-wide 178⁰ viewing angle and ultra bright Super IPS+ panel for brighter screen. 8mp full HD rear camera with flash. and full 1080 HD play back. and thinner :D

  • @KELLZER100 Lots of marketing talk. The OMAP4460 1.5Ghz performs about as fast as Tegra3, even faster in many potential cases (to actually be compared). Archos has many better features such as the 3G Stick compartment, kick-stand, and most importantly, Archos G9 starts below $250.

  • @Charbax I feel that your feelings and statements are swayed by the fact you love the G9 tablet. Seriously you cant compare a G9 (even at turbo) with a Transformer Prime.

    Transformer Prime

    Better Camera

    WAY better screen

    More RAM

Quad Core with a Fifth Core be used soley for other purpose

They will or already have a 3g/4g model

And most of all Asus has better support then Archos

I havnt even started hunting for better facts

  • @JohnSLyu Camera is fine on G9 for the purpose it covers which is 720p video-conferencing. For 1080p video-conferencing maybe a USB 1080p webcam can work.

The Archos G9 screen is perfectly fine. Same 1280x800 resolution, capacitive performance is just great.

RAM does not make a difference on ICS, as far as I know there are very few Android apps that need more than 32mb of RAM.

Archos 3G/4G/LTE stick option is MUCH better, you get the stick you want.

Archos support is fine, use Archos Fans forum.

  • i think each tablet and each company has its strong points. its more a matter of what you need it for. personally, i like the enhanced media experience on archos. as well as the HUGE storage you dont have with most devices. i can upload all my high def vids and not worry about storage, oh yeah i didnt pay shit for a full on experience that clearly competes with many tablets on the market.

  • @Charbax how does streaming 720 over the web and streaming 1080 effect performace and quality of the call?

  • @JohnSLyu but like he said, a lot of things arent optimzed for dual core much less quad core...? wouldnt you have more bugs?

  • @shawtdusanshawt you just got served

  • seriously its gb not ghz...who calls ram 1ghz..even non tech followers know this

  • @Charbax you're right, but at 512mb the ram is too small
