Its a good question, but even if our species dies out next year its still the first one ever to figure out that the planet it lives on is round, and that's just awesome.

hay man u didn't get it smoking dose cause lung cancer no question but there are hundreds of types of cancer and nobody knows what causes even a quarter of them so u cant say he is wrong but he cant say fore certain he is wright

Absolutely correct. Eat enough of them at once and you'll never again get sick. After all, cyanide poisoning isn't a sickness.

You have no idea how stupid species humanity is. It is completely over-estimating to say that we are very intelligent/the top of the animals etc. The reason why there is not another as sentinent species as a human is also absurd. There are many relatively sentinent animals, the difference is that we have made more advanced tools, which boosted our development. We just happen to be the first.

cancer most likely has more to do with our genes incompatibilities within ourselves than secondary chemical reactions, however, same said chemicals can alter the functioning of our genes ie: replication errors of cells as you stated
-
to say what we eat or our environment has nothing to do with cancer is very ignorant. you saying smoking doesn't cause lung cancer?

humans are acting in this earth exactly like cancer acts in our bodies.help save the planet kill yourself

THAT is our evolution silly! Food...psh omg. The fact that we needed a thirst for protein and meat allowed us to progress and naturally grow

A soul? what are we spirits now? That's ridiculous. A soul is non existant, it is but a misconception. Human's are NOT smart. Humans are adaptable. The Mayan's had disrupting and disturbing rituals of attacking each other and thus viciously sacrificing them, Recently discovered. Oh yes that is quite intelligent. we ARE animals, however we are able to prepare and think ahead.
A friend once told me that her gynie told her that its not the size of the head that causes problems in childbirth, but the broadness of the shoulders.

Interesting ... I'll read up about it

It seems you are right. It seems that shoulder complications (shoulder dystocia) are about twice as prevalent as head complications (cephalopelvic disproportion). I don't think that completely invalidates my points though.

Your point about the higher life expectancy explaining higher cancer rates is quite interesting.. explains a lot.
And I guess you are right by your concerns about ideas, I share your concern, I was just trying to understand physical changes, I guess.
Anyways, thank you very much for the response! :)

I initially said quite a bit more about physical evolution, but had to cut a lot to get under 10 minutes - but it was (to me at least) all less interesting that the stuff I kept.
My favourite book on evolution (and it has a lot about human evolution) is The Ancestor's Tale by Richard Dawkins - I can really recommend it.

Intersting part about the idea and the edge of the knife, I hope we dont fall on the regressive side.
On the other hand, if we can manage to build sustainable colonies on other planets before blowing ourselves up, be smashed by an asteroid, or falling into a new dark age for social regressive resons, once we start scattering in space out chance for survival are magnified by a great factor imo.

I think in the long run (hundreds to thousands of years) going into space is the ONLY way that the human race can ensure its continued existence.
