After several weeks of waiting I finally got the HK-450 in the air. This is the very first intial flight to setup the electronics, the gyro, and ensure everything is trimmed. As I stated in my blog and review video there are some things I don't care for about this kit and unfortunately they played a roll in the flight. Overall it was a pretty positive outcome.

Please excuse the constraint how much I could do. It is a very small space to work with and I plan to open it up at the park next flight.

  • I also would llike to ask you something:

I saw a couple of videos of yours and also the review of the HK450 you made.

Because I have aHoney Bee King2, 3900 KV and ESKY ESC 30A, I wanted to ask you how would you compare the two helis - HK450 and the HBK2?

this is because I decided to give up on the King and purchased a HK450 which hasn't yet arrived, and put the available electronics from King into the HK.

    Thank you!

  • The cyclic response is a lot more precise and faster on the hk450. I suspect part of that is due to using the digital metal gear servo's on the 450 though. The 450 does feel heavier in the air and it takes more gimble to throw it around, but the biggest thing I notice between the two is the tail response. With the king I could any and everything to it and still have a slow sloppy tail response from the kingv2. For my style of flying (sport/scale) I still actually prefer the kingv2 on a calm day.

  • Thank you for your fast response!

I forgot to mention -- I am a total newb (not to the extent that I don't know what an RC heli is, but to the extent that I flew my king 2 6-7 times and got 6-7 crashes, the last of them better in terms of damage [1 servo ], which makes me feel not totally frustrated.) so please apply that to my question, and tell me -- do I need to buy expensive electronics just to get it in the ground? Or is it the expensive electronics that makes me NOT go into the ground?

  • Thank you.. Interesting and informative..
