  • is it ok to put 2 of these punches in the trunk of my mustang?

  • once upon a time I had these subs in this box in the back of a 95 mustang.. I had to take out the entire frame of the back seat and force the box to fit. For a mustang I would recommend 2 good 10 inch subs, one beefy 12 inch or a well-designed dual 12 box. You will have no bit of trunk space as well.

  • why haven't you wired them down to 2ohm, they will be seeing more power.

  • i was trying to figure that out too, ~500watts each sub? it makes me sad to see them so underpowered

  • the punch HX2 only were rated at 500 rms each. the POWER hx2 were able to hold more yes. these were only the punch series..

  • the amp I had running these was a 2channel amp. A bridged 2 channel amp is only stable at a 4 ohm load.

  • sounds tight. check out my set up - same subs bigvell02

  • @Ringnesbest go to rockford fosgate.com if im not mistaken sealed 1.25 cubic feet, ported 2 cubic. per sub. 4in port 10.75

  • @LtorryCeltics peel the rubber surround from the speaker to box to expose the screws. Basically your palm will be on the box. hope this helps

  • I need to get mine in another box and amped up, issue is not sure what box I want,

  • @Otacrunk $ became their eyes... sad day. I had a Rockford Punch Z, lowest of their class, and loved every min of its low punching goodness.

  • @Marshall6971 if boss claims to put out 600x1it probably only really puts our MAYBE 100.a friend had a lanzar 2400w and it was putting out about 600 on a good day.get a better amp is best advise i can give. i bought a rf t1500-1bd for $300 just until my 2500 comes in.

  • @subsystems All of this is of course depending on the actual box size and parameters of the driver. I took a guess so it could be off. The principle should still apply but don't do anything permanent without trying it.

  • Here is an experiment I would try with your setup. Remove the 12 nearest the port and screw a wood plate over the box opening. Take that 12 and isoload it to the first (face to face) and connect in reverse parallel so the cones will move together. This will up your SPL around 10 dB at 25 Hz and only drop 3 dB over 100Hz with the same power usage. An option is to have a pair of 6x9s or 8s coming in just above 100Hz at nearly the same total power as the sub for kick drums.

  • I have a question. I have a pair of RF punchHX2 with DVC,s that I wired into a series parralell configuration and bridged the voice coils so the impedeance is to be at is 1 Ohm. I have a temporary amp and its a Boss BAUS250...I know...dont laugh. It claims to put out 300x2 rms or 600 rms a 1 Ohm. I find this hard to believe but the specs are right on the amp. My point is that I want to max these things out to hit as hard as they could. What should i do?

  • I have same subs how do you take them out of the box?
