A CSX road-rail truck drives by on its way to install a sign at around 2:30 on 24.07.09. The driver gave me the death stare for some reason.

  • @ACLTony Let me give you the view from the other side of the coin. How many railfans on YouTube constantly trash CSXT. It's common. Repetitive. And no matter how profitable or safe or how many ton miles they haul, there are still railfans out there who trash CSXT ( and UP, and NS, and BNSF, etc).

When people who work in this industry and accomplish so much are trashed by the very people who follow them as a hobby, after a while there will be negative backlast.

  • @railfanmike I'm going to be there tomorrow..Model train expo...yea!

  • @Boss302fan

we don't get anything done nowadays with all the rules we have to follow, If safety is the real priority just pay me to stay home, I'd be real safe then.

  • @CSXRockford Yes. if I'm running a locomotive or working the ground (seldom do that anymore) then you are absolutely welcome to film me doing so. I'm proud of what I do. I'm proud of what I and my brothers and sisters in the industry can accomplish. we do impossible tasks and keep this continent moving. If someone appreciates that and can engage in their hobby safely and with respect, I am all for it.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 Oh, I agree with you completely. And as I said, I encourage my crews here to treat railfans with respect. And if I'm approached and have time to do so I'll answer questions or tell those who are polite a bit about the operations and where they can safely shoot.

Unfortunately beyond that your argument falls apart. Human nature steps in and there's enough "bad apples" out there that the impact on actual railroads is often negative. Too bad. Take care!

  • @Boss302fan While I see your point, but because there are immature assholes out in the world, doesn't mean that our entire group should be judged based off of other's actions. I cannot control what others do in this world. Also, when I railfan, I stay off the property and railfan from a safe distance. However, just because some insist on being stupid, doesn't mean that our base should be treated or looked upon as shit. The bad ones will learn though someday. Here is hoping.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 In general I will agree with you. I encourage my crews to wave or be friendly if they are around railfans. I just always want to be sure they are reminded to stay off the property itself. And most comply.

Sadly for railfans about 1 in 10 of you can be assholes. You tresspass. Climb on equipment. Put yourselves or others in ddanger in the persuit of your hobby. And many post some incredibly negative comments here. Those few ruin it for all.

  • Take this useless petty video off of youtube. even if you could see "the look on his face" who cares? please delete this worthless video.

  • Typical union worker.

  • He was pissed off because he couldn't bust you for trespassing or some other stupid shit that makes them feel all important.
