I am sorry if I was not clear. From your comment it appears that you belive that FGM is an Islamic requirement and is widely practised within the muslim community. This is far from the truth. This practise among muslims, christians etc in some parts of the world is due to cultural influences rather than an Islamic requirement. You will not find this requirement in the Quran and Hadith(practices and sayings of the Mohammed, peace be upon him) . You could check this for yourself.
