This is a video clip of the Midwest Horse Fair during the Saturday evening show. The video shows the middle team of horses falling and ending up on their backs. Unfortunately, after 11 seconds or so the memory disc was full so you don't get to see how amazingly quick and professional the staff was in un-tangling the horses. Nor do you see what actually happened to cause them to go down. There are other videos on youtube that show how miraculously calm the horses were while they were being untangled, and amazingly enough they appeared uninjured when they were finally allowed to get up.

  • How are the horses?????

  • The horses appeared fine, after they were untangled, they were hooked back up and trotted out of the arena. I didn't see any of them limping, they looked calm and like nothing had ever happened-thankfully.

  • These people are AMAZING!!!

  • That was SO scarry.

  • I was there and noticed that the horse that fell initially was slightly lame in the right hind leg-the one that was all tangled when he was down. He wasnt bad, but had a hip hike. I am sure he received the best care. The other horse that fell seemed to be fine. They were very lucky!

  • Top notch horses and handlers, To bad for the wreck, but high speed adds to the danger. We loosen our checks so they can save them selfs a little easyer but it would not of help here much

  • they went down because the inside (swing?) horse stepped over the bar in front separating him from the inside lead, he leapt along to try and keep up but it didnt work. priefert did an amazing job of unhooking them, all horses were fine and they re hitched and trotted out

  • that wasnt good, it looked way worse that it was (they were all fine)
