The vast majority of illegal immigrants come from Mexico. There is no reason on earth for that country to be in the impoverished condition it is in. It is the 8th largest oil producing country in the world, has abundant fishing, agriculture, silver and other minerals, and tourism. All of its problems are cause by its corrupt government. Why don't the Mexicans have a damn revolution and stop mooching off American taxpayers?

I´ve been saying the same thing all along. The key is education, investment in technology and science. Mexico has had the godfathership of the USA for quite a long time, even copied some of it´s democratic code, but paid no honor to it. The USA buying our oil for 5 dollars more than any other oil supplier in the world is a damned favor that no Mexican recognizes. Must be because our government has stolen it all from us.

Revolution huh... don´t even get me started, I love the idea, BUT, we would have to screw up the entire system. Our economy would collapse, and this time for real. We got weapons and we got the balls, but we can´t just take over. I live down south of Mexico and I have never been to USA, personally I don´t understand why our people immigrate, i´m not rich, but I make a decent living. Good statement.

Dams19. I agree. Is there such a thing as an illegal human being?! What would American citizen's do if they found themselves in a similar position e.g. sit back on watch their children starve?! We live in a world of plenty. Poverty in 2007 is not the fault of nature, it is mankind made poverty. Get rid of poverty and immigration ceases to be a problem.

Yeah so America consumes 900kg of grain per head per year, whilst those in the poorest consume 180kg of grain per head per year... but no immigrant has a claim on your precious unfairly distributed resources, yes? America has blood on its hands for all the famines... and just in the same way that I, as a Brit, would feel too ashamed to deny immigrants the right to enter and work here after what our Empire did, so you should feel ashamed for denying your immigrants.

why would you stop immigration. most of the people in this country are here because of their grandparents or great-grandparents immigrating here. why would you want it to stop? they have the same right to be here as you do.
