Stewy, it IS true - that is the test of religiosity and spirituality, as defined by religions themselves. What a shame most so-called religious aren't, by this test, actually religious. And that's certainly not confined to the Ummah - all religious congregations are equally guilty. So sad. Guess we'd better teach by example then - as Confucius said, all day, every day. Let's do it!
The "test of religiosity" is to "always treat all others as we would wish to be treated ourselves'. It all sounds very nice but it just isn't true. As an atheist or a hindu will the Umah treat me like a brother? Laudable sentiments though
