Rob talks about the amazing screen saver created by Scott Draves, "Electric Sheep" ( http://www.electricsheep.org ) and how it could be used as a fanciful aid in visualizing how our reality comes to be.

  • Wow, great stuff.

Considering how difficult the subject matter is, you make it very understandable, and very casual also.

    Keep up the great work!

  • Thanks so much, your kind words are much appreciated!

    Rob

  • The Middle world for machines.

  • Are you talking about the Mark Haws book? "Middle World - The Restless Heart of Matter and Life".

  • Good entry. Thanks for the link, also. I'm definitely going to enjoy watching the dreams of technology!

  • I've had the Electric Ship screensaver for a month or so now, it takes a few days for it to download enough animations to get really captivating, but now I love to sit down and contemplate the latest stuff that it's created. A lot of organic/naturalistic textures appear - water, smoke, metal, fire, fractal flowers, it's quite the journey. I guess I'll really know I'm on to something if I ever see it rotate into a calabi-yau manifold!

  • This dude's a geek!

  • Hey Rob I was wondering what your views are on psychedelic drugs in general and if they are truely "Hallucinogenic" or just noncomprehending in relation to the user's awareness / understanding of it's effects on his/her mind. Are psychedelic drugs popular in the great thinkers / scientific community as much as I have heard and read?

The very idea of fractals being experienced with psychedelics in general interests me immensely..

  • Blah blah blah SHUT UP FAT MAN!!!!!

  • Stimulating !

  • @10thdim

    :D

  • respect dude

  • probably this comment will wake up the trolls and atheists but... I don't give a crap.

That "white light" 03:00 or noise is my definition of "heaven" or kingdom, too bad I wrote it in my blog in spanish, but pretty much that's the way I've described the reality of "God",

If the 10th dimension exists... is because someone is watching it ;) think about it

  • Symmetry/grouping. Cool! Since I was a kid I've been thinking about the logical flow of events of flipping a coin and the effected likeliness due to previous outcomes. If you throw a coin 100 times showing a tail if the previous proven likeliness of a coin is 50% there is a memory by "something" increasing the likeliness of a "tail" showing up; if the same observer lifts it one year later the likeliness is preserved; but if another does - it's a new situation; previous throws have no effect.
