I perform and interpret a Mann-Whitney U test and a Wilcoxon Rank-Sum Test in SPSS. I discuss how to enter the data, how to run the analysis, and interpret the output. I also show how to get the medians for each group, as well as test the non-parametric Levene's test of homogeneity of variance assumption. I mention that the Mann-Whitney U test can sometimes be more powerful than the corresponding independent samples t-test, which proved to be the case in this example.
