You can do ab exercises in the first Trimester, but after that, you cannot do anything lying flat on your back. Contracting ab muscles whilst sitting or standing is fine.

This exercise should only be done in the absence of diastassis recti..regular evaluation of your rectus abdominus is neccesary.
In addition stabilizing the external support and working the obliques with non twisting oblique work ...andrea../fitmomfitness
