Woooooow! I thought i'd never see this again. This brings back such great memories for me. I used to watch this after kindergarten along with the Friendly Giant & Mr. Dressup on channel 9 broadcasted from Canada. Tnanks sooo much.

@MrsCyn You must have gone to kindergarten at 4:00 am. I used to watch This show, "The New Adventures of Pinocchio" and Bozo The Clown on channel 9, starting at 5:30 am.

Yep. This was what kids got every morning and some evenings, when I was at an impressionable age. After all, kids were simple-minded and could be fed swill over and over without complaining, right? Actually if you tuned out the show itself, but began to sort of meditate and become one with the cathode ray tube, it could be a 'zen' experience...

You could wake up every 10 min. or so for the repeat of the intro (with actual in-betweens) and then, back to zoning out on robotic poses.

Yes, Rankin/Bass often employed Canadian voice actors in the 1960s and early 1970s because it was cheaper. Many of the voice actors in this show, including Larry Mann (the guy who voiced Rusty Tinman and the Topsy-Turvy Mayor), would go on to do voices in "Rudolph" (Larry Mann voiced Yukon Cornelius).

The animation process was also outsourced to Canada because that was cheaper too (other Rankin/Bass productions were typically outsourced to Japan).

I Cannot believe these cartoons are on here! I was about 6 or 7 wen i first seen these episodes, CTV was showing reruns. I also did not know these were cartoons from 1961.
