  • This was one of the best intro's to the series of opening credits to the Nero Wolfe season. The Cha-Cha-Cha music is wonderfully done and the plot of "Murder is Corney" sort of hit Wolfe where he lives, in gourmet delights.

  • Does it get any cooler than this? I don't think so!

  • Michael Small was the best composer for this show. So many varied styles. Cool orchestrations! Cool scoring!

  • @MusicLoverBrian1 Exactly, it bums me out so much...here was A&E's line up for today...

2 episodes of Gene Simmons' show, then 3 hours of Hoarders, followed by 3 hours of Intervention, follower by 3 hours of Hoarders, followed by 4 hours of Intervention, followed by 2 hours of Hoarders, followed by Intervention...

I mean it's enough to make you dizzy, it's so sickening.

This is what they canceled Nero Wolfe for! It's a huge joke.

Nero Wolfe was a type of show that had class, flair, sophistication, wit, comedy, fantastic scripts, beautiful set pieces, superb actors/actresses, wonderful cinematography and camera work, and of course the music was outstanding! It's a shame that this show never received the kind of promotion that it should have got. And what is so unfortunate is that Maury Chaykin is gone from us. Can you imagine how many episodes of NW we would have got if the show wasn't cancelled?

  • @abbynormal868 They canceled it for a little thing called Reality tv...

There's an awesome quote by Maury Chaykin on it: "I'm a bit jaded about which shows succeed on television, I worked on a fantastic show once called Nero Wolfe, but at the time A&E was transforming from the premiere intellectual cable network in America to one that airs Dog the Bounty Hunter on repeat, so it was never promoted and eventually went off the air" ...couldn't have said it better.

  • @Spiderking9 - this orchestrated music stuff has always been my mainstay - I just added this to my 2002 playlist. I'm playlisting each of the last 100 years.

The 1950-1976 playlists each run an hour+, hope to get 2 hours for every year, including theme songs like this, even a few ads from the time.

My channel is a musical window into the past. Lots of latin music like this, too !

  • "I want the corn NOW. Tomorrow."

  • They stopped making them in favor of programming that doesn't perform nearly as well ratings-wise, but it was cheaper. I still have my DVDs & the hope that Hutton, Chaykin & co. will do some telefilms for Hallmark or some such channel.

  • I don't know why they stopped making these. A&E has no class anymore. I miss them. The music was great.
