You wouldn't steal a policeman's helmet and go to the toilet in it... would you?

Instead of "you wouldn't steal a car!" the actual ad should say "you wouldn't make an exact duplicate of someone's car which you drive away in leaving the original car completely unchanged!"

That's a populist argument. Only a few people who first downloaded files that they like will buy them afterwards. The majority doesn't feel guilty and is happy with the freebie.

I never had any money to begin with to buy your game, so you're not losing profit from me. Pirating saves me from games like D3(even though i still bought it) that 60$ could have gone to my electric bill.

The industry will eventually adapt to accomodate filesharing, but not before it will fight tooth and nail to make billions in profits instead of millions. This is only a matter of greed, DONT BELIEVE FOR A SECOND THAT COPYING WILL KILL MUSIC OR FILM. The inly thing to die in the next years is TV, those guys are whores.

Yeah but if the game is good a lot of people will buy it afterwords, I do and I'm an asshole. Although I've only done it a couple times, mainly because I have only found a couple games I really enjoyed.

That is not the same thing. Building an exact copy of a car takes both effort and material. If you want that analogy to fit you would have to make a movie or game exactly like the original..from scratch using the orginal as a template.

You need statistics to back up either claim.

And buying any game that uses exsisting guns means you are indirectly supporting the gun industry (because games manufacturers have to pay them), buying COD is like buying a gun (price is also quite the same) without actually getting a gun.
