On the DVD of Soap the creators said that Chuck and Bob were only supposed to guest star a few episodes but so many fans wrote in that they kept them as regulars. I think Burt, Bob and Chuck made the show work the most. At least the comedy side of it

Bob's eyes were blue on Soap. Jay makes Bob's movements too erratic and fast.

I first saw Jay on soap long ago, and he was great then. But watch the Letterman clip on you tube. Jeff Dunham is awesome, but Jay puts Jeff Dunham to shame!
