ahhh, it's good to see the boe bot again

Very illustrative

very good work, (y)

If you use fir your P controller a high enough value, you would get some very decent results comparable to the PID, and with less space in the uC memory
-
nice way to show P and PID controllers in action, this video actually shows how I and D terms work. sure with PID a steady state error is eliminated and the gadget acts more precise than with P controller

increase the value of Kd

Hi. The video is great. Can you tell me, from your experience with tweaking the p, i and d terms, what is the effect of each one?

nice, but maybe you should check your derivative response as you still got a bit overshoot and pseudo pulse remaining on this.
Nice job though !
Hi, it seems like it overshoots reference values - distance - in both cases. am I wrong? does it need calibration of PID ?

If you don't like that effect, you can of course tune the PID values. The overshooting should be due to a larger Integral gain value. but I love it...

Hiya bietz17 : Way cool , I just bought a BoeBot this week, was it difficult to build? Do you have extras on your Boe Bot than came with the kit?
Thanks :))

that's actually not my boe bot. It's just a video from Parallax that shows how the "PEKBot" (with the propeller chip) with a PID controller works better than the normal BOE-bot with P controller.
You can watch the video called 'BOEbot P and PID control'
to see my boe bot performing a P and a PID controller.
The only difficulty that you could find is rather the programming part than the building part. Read the manual carefully.

Be aware that robotics is mostly about programming!
If you don't know anything about it yet, have fun discovering the programming world!
