Are Holidays like Christmas and Easter pagan or Christian?
Is Halloween a Pagan Festival?
Can Muslims Celebrate Christmas or Valentine day?
Where Does Halloween Come from?
Halloween has evolved and been influenced by a number of different cultures and religions, the most important of which are paganism, the Romans, the Celts (the people of Ireland, Scotland, Britain, Wales) and Christianity.
However, almost all of the traditions surrounding Halloween as we know it today can be traced back to the Celtic Day of the Dead, a pagan holiday.

But i do not know if i am alone in this issue but, is anyone else having a hard time trying to pray? el shaitan gets in my head so easily, can anyone suggest something i can try to make me pray on time and consistently? Or is this a personal battle type of thing? thank you for your answers.

This was the time for a great feast to which all the tribe were invited - not only he living, but the ancestors & the yet unborn. Divination was also practised to establish the fortune of the clan in the coming year. The next pagan festival was the Winter Solstice, the shortest day, & the birth of the Sun God! Christians later took over this feast as the birth of Christ, although nobody knows for sure when,Jesus was born at that time or even at all! He is just one resurrect god out of many!

All the 8 festivals of the year were originally pagan festivals adopted & Christianized by the church! All Hallows was originally in April, but the church transferred it across the year & superimposed it on one of the important pagan festivals of Samhain. This was the boundary between summer & winter, 1/2 way between the Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. At this feast, all the cattle were slaughtered except for the breeding stock, because they could not be fed during the winter.

This vid was excellent, inshaAllah I am posting on Twitter & Facebook to share w/everyone I know. JazaakAllah for the strong reminders, it's easy for things to become nebulous here in America right in the center of it all, esp when your family isn't Muslim. We have to work that much harder to keep our identity and not fall victim to a lot of what you discussed in this vid. Alhamdullilah Allah has preserved us and may He continue to and you, and our children as well. Great lecture!

I recognise the meaning of abstaining from unholy/ unnatural symbolism in festivities and dress / culture but I'd like to learn the wisdom behind the significance of hygiene practice -from washing to going to the toilet? I haven't been raised to be aware of Islam's teachings.
