YNN reports on the Mud Tug competition and fundraiser at Rochester Institute of Technology, sponsored annually by RIT's Greek community.
It's not exactly basic training, but some local college students are doing their part to raise money in an event that's positively dirty.
It's the 14th annual Mud Tug on the campus at RIT.
The school's Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority are hosting the event. Nearly a thousand students formed teams to compete in tug-of-wars with the losers taking a mud bath.
"RIT makes it a real big thing. They put it as part of their admissions. They ask people to come here as part of admissions. They really promote this event. It's probably one of the top 10 events. Last year, we had RIT president attend in his first year, said it's really energetic, really high school spirit and it's all for a good cause," said Mike Kassis, Phi Kappa Psi.
This year, the event is supporting the Fisher House, which supports families of injured soldiers during their time of need.
