Prepare your bird with a Cajun rub. Bring the oil to the correct temp. Keep the dogs away or they will spill the whole thing and ruin thanksgiving for everybody. Connect the hanger to the pole that connects to the plate at the bottom of the bird. Set it in the fryer SLOWLY or it will boil over causing a fire when the oil hits combustable stuff. Refer to the internet for all other instructions.

  • I have never tried this, but am looking forward to my first time...I have a question with this fried turkey thing...can you put the dressing/stuffing inside the body cavity and fry it then?

  • No. The dressing and stuffing have to be made separately.

  • Ok. Film yourself putting a turkey in faster and put it as a video response to this video. I dare you.

  • Drop the damn thing not suppose to hold it!

  • um... yes you are.

  • Good job.

Just so everyone else knows, oil should be at 350 - 375 before you dip the bird in. A good rule of thumb is to cook it 3 - 4 minutes a pound. (Always worked great for me.)

And for the guys saying that he should have just dropped the turkey in, fuck off. That would be disastrous.

  • looks good, nice job

  • deep fried is the best. Good job on showing how to lower the turkey slowly thats one thing most people dont get or understand also good advice about the lid too. just wondering if you let it sit? I let mine sit for like 30 minutes so juices run back I do the same with my smoked prok butt let it sit for 30 minutes also.

  • @firemans33 I'm thinking about trying a brined turkey then deep frying it. Did you ever do it? If so how did it turn out?

  • it looks great...it would be nice if the woman would stop talking so we could hear you though...I'd love to try this.

  • Our next snack ;))

  • look good i should try that way..do you have to by the pot and burner ?

  • condensation dont you mean evaporation?

  • Absolutely. He was very smart about this, but even this way has its dangers as his hand is directly over the oil. Ideally, I'd rather hands be off to the side so people avoid the risk of being splattered by hot oil and accidentally dropping the turkey in. I do a lot of cooking so I'm fairly good at suppressing the response to hot oil hitting my skin, but when you're caught off guard by something really hot, your flinch response can be pretty strong and there's no way to fully suppress it.

  • Getting ideas for Christmas :D.
