@yesiknowable so you're saying that Jesus with all his pure heart and best intentions for all of us would like it better if you just follow his teachings and have him as a sort of a central figure to which you give and devote your love,

or

be a beacon of light to yourself and therefor to others; like a lighthouse - your own source of light seen far away by ships in the dark for guidance. This way not only are youre reaching ur potential, but the light u radiate mirrors a fraction of Jesus' love.

@timid188 i believe in occams razor (the simpler choice is the right one) the religious and simple minded would think that the bible is pretty simple and straight forward...but it's not, there's all these interpretations, false claims, contradictions, etc...and even though science can be incredibly complex that doesn't mean it's not simple...the simple choice is believing in solid evidence, it's just complex for us to discover what's already there!

@timid188 ...speaking of the real world, let's take a look at our world, we are a world of science and freedom of thought and expression (well most of the world) there's nothing wrong with having a belief, but please stop the fighting...insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results...i choose science because it's unbiased, it actually progresses and shifts the paradigm in our everyday lives...religion has never achieved any of that...

i find it sad that people don't have faith in themselves...why have such a negative view towards humanity, yes we are bad, but no matter how dark a person can become there is always hope....people need to look within themselves, the art of vipassana meditation can alter your consciousness and enlighten your perception of the world!

@timid188 the only wrong thing are certainties in such complex matters such as an afterlife...everyone has their own interpretation....jesus IS enlightened, and you can learn much from following his ways....but the whole son of god thing is a man made fable, watch anarchy is emergent, in romans (i think chapter 13) it says that god and government are synonymous to one another, so therefore you can't rebel or disobey government without doing so to god!
