Can you not, with the same type of ammo, combine them so that you have more space in your inventory. If am not mistaken I think you may be able too on resident evil 5 on the console version but was just wondering if you could on this game?

You don't need to. The game combines ammo in your inventory automatically.

The console versions, yes, I would recommend but the PC version I would only recommend to diehard fans of the series. It's a great game but the keyboard only thing can be a bitch.

@MajorSlackVideos you can use gamepad on pc... the pc have GC textures, which makes it the best looking and sounding version by far.
