It's a cello banjo, meaning it's bigger to accommodate lower notes, hence as a cello is to a violin or viola.

Hi Paul, this is a 16" rim. The Goldtone 14" 5-string cello can be seen on our Thunder & Blazes Youtube video. Curly plays it for that piece and includes some lead parts. Let me know if you want any additional info on the Goldtone 5-string Cello. Carole Anne
