Mine is a Slingbox Solo though...

Kai, I had 2 that were the same color bulged. I had my friend solder them in. Got them at a local electronics repair store for about $5. We bought ones more robust in capacity than the originals. Solder sucked as it was hard to get the old capacitors off! Also a bad power supply we tried to fix it to no avail. I then took a $23 chance from Slingbox themselves for a new power supply and it did the trick after TONS of fiddling with firmware upgrades and online setups...FINALLY working!

I had the same problem with my old slingbox classic, so I bought me a solo and I wish I would had spent a little more and upgraded to pro. Solo is not doing it for me.

I have to agree, my slingbox died just as it was updated, I think slingbox is trying to rid of all the classic box so they can force you to buy their new ones.
I wasn't aware of the bulging capacitors but I'll open it up and take a look, thanks. where did you find a replacement power supply?
I don't know why I kept the broken slingbox after all this time, perhaps it's to get over the disappointment that I was OFFERED a replacement direct from Sling but it never materialized.

If you look around online, you'll see some tutorials about seeing if your Slingbox has bulging capacitors and a guide about replacing them. I replaced 2 bulging capacitors on my Slingbox Solo that died after working for 2 years and now it works again. I also had to replace my power supply...

@tirademan I opened up my sb classic again, but don't notice any signs of bulging capacitors. I have 4 total on the board. thanks anyway..

you were updating your SB classic box when it died?
I wasn't even updating mine.. it just decided to die one day. (Only other indicator of imminent death: IR Blaster would not send signals to my remote, but I could still stream)
Could also be bad design and/or quality control. the SB gets quite hot, and there isn't one fan inside of it..
