What I like about this movie is that there is not computer animation or animatronics. Just real horses and real riders: I Think this was of the last movies were all scenes were real.

@pinz2022 i know sigrid isnt hot, but she is pretty in her own way, although it could be she is the only young girl in the movie and you have a bunch of stinky bearded toothless austrailians pegleg kirk douglas and horses to look at, but those eyes are UNBELIEVABLE, i saw this movie again a few days ago ang i couldnt get her outta my head, so i decided she is attractive not hot or prettty or beautiful but she is apealing in her own way

@pinz2022 it was still pretty much an agrian based society back then, horses were more valuable. if they're your main form of transport....
(and think about the culture and the money that people did and didn't have)

Strange, I recall one historian's assertion that there weren't any distinctive "American" accents until around 1800 or so. What was used for evidence is beyond me, there being no recording technology back then.
When I first saw the movie at age nineteen, I thought Sigrid Thornton was fugly. Looking at her now, I find her looks fascinating. An "unconventional" beauty, kinda like Minnie Driver.

@pinz2022 well i'm not from the autralianfrontier, but its probable that the demeanor and dialect of the early settlers was a whole lot more richer and authentic, you understand what i'm saying? it was pure, and that they valued the wilderness they settled in to so much more, it just had its own sense of beauty. sorry if i did not answer your question the way you wanted, but isn't jessica stunning? gosh.
Bareback riding is legit! Go Jim!
