Have fun with this recipe video for Gluten-Free Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Hoisin Peanut Sauce from Veria Living. Chef Jet Tila rolls up some delicious shrimp spring rolls and a hoisin peanut dipping sauce. Included in the procedure are tips on how to properly prepare the rice vermicelli and rice paper for optimal results.

Ingredients:

Spring Rolls:
2 ounces rice vermicelli
8 8.5-inch-diameter rice wrappers
2 green leaf lettuce leaves, leaves quartered
1/2 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
8 large cooked shrimp, peeled, deveined, and cut lengthwise in half

Hoisin Peanut Sauce:
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon (or more, to taste) rice vinegar

  • I tried making spring rolls like that once upon a time but the wrappers were just too chewy for me, they looked much better prepared your way. I think I'll have to try again.

  • @hunthicks Thanks for your comment! The wraps can get chewy if you don't soak them enough. You should definitely try again, let us know how it goes this time. :)

  • And yummy yum yum, just recently i tried these for the first time at a Vietnamese restaurant and have made them once on my own. (from a recipe found on the internet) Sure do wish you were my next door neighbor, i would love to learn more. oh, i can do that right here at utube. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to make these delicious delightful spring rolls!!!!!!!!!
