PowerDrift License Day 2009 at Rudskogen, Norway

Enjoy the drifting action from the PowerDrift License Day 2009 at Rudskogen Raceway in Norway. This was a license and training day with a lot of great driving.

Background:
Video is recorded without a tripod, so stability is not too good. I had to hold camera above the fence, which is demanding for longer periods... camera used was Sony HDR-HC5. Imported as 25fps 1080p 50i, 44 minutes raw footage reduced to 10 minutes of raw clips that I found useful and after tweaking and editing the video ended up at 06:10 in length. Exported as WMV at 720p. Tried to reduce the amount of less interesting clips and focus on the explosive drifting action - which meant I had to cut out a lot of drivers and cars, only the very best got through. I was unable to record everything that happened, so this is just a small teaser of all the action that happened.

Result: I'm not satisfied with the framerate or how the movie feels, the editing was OK but the production seem to have some issues. The sound and music is what it is, please don't complain about the lack of engine and noises - from where I was recording I had people talking and background music. Enjoy it for what it is!

I hate music in car videos. How hard can it be to understand, if we wanted music we would go see a concert or hear a CD. Car's should be all about cars, and the pure engine sound, turbo, and wheels skriming is all we want to hear :)

I've already explained at the end of the information text that I'm sorry about the lack of car sound, but the alternative would be extremely annyoing background music from the speakers at the event and people talking around where I was standing (it was a big crowd). I always try to balance the sound and I'm a driver myself and I love the car sounds. Please check some of my other videos :-)
