  • Someone has a submarine to test the navigation underwater? It is nonsense to show that it "works" underwater. Because if it REALLY works out the Garmin 310XT would have no problem to track and record the position that someone swan, what it is NOT true. It is water resistant right, so it means, it will not spoil, but it DOES NOT work out underwater, so please don't try to sell something that is not true.

  • @airtonj

The point of the video is to show that exposure to water does not harm the GPS, even when completely submerged for 30 minutes. That makes it a viable choice for outdoor use. It's obviously not to suggest that you can drive underwater.

  • Is that for when it directs you to turn into a lake?

  • @airtonj Obviously you are missing the point. No, you are not going to navigate underwater. This test only demonstrates how the GPS unit would handle the average users wet exposure. For instance, a RAIN STORM on a motorcycle. Amazing!

  • i use my my nuvi 500 on a fishing ski in the sea. no problems, great unit

  • ima go driving in the water ..lol .. this is what im looking for it going on my jetski ..thanks 4 the vid ..

  • popular choice with snowmobilers who get thier units wet all the time, great video.

  • That good video or better than good gps

  • The 500 is not just for vehicle navigation, but also can be used for hiking, or with the addition of a card, used for marine navigation. Great video showing just how waterproof it is.

  • @airtonj. I dont agree with you , it`s nonsence what you say! its stupid your comment, no one would be driving underwater.. . it clearly says it is waterproof , the point is to make clear that the water doesnt harm the gps in case of accident. open your mind!
