These are computer generated sculptures that I created and animated through the use of procedural displacements.

  • thanks for posting, procedural displacements have much potential. Have you tried using the amplitude of the music to influence the displacements? Have you tried it on something less abstract?

  • You are welcome. I think using music to affect displacement parameters is a very cool idea. I would need to figue out how that can be done with my software.

  • do you have after effects? There's a way to convert sound to markers. (search audiotomarkers ae)Do you use maya? On highen3d/creativecrash there's a script to use sound as input. (midi something)

  • Thanks, I use Maya with Mental Ray -I will look into the music script.

  • Interesting results. Have you documented the process of creating these, I'd like to have a look.

  • never liked maths-based art myself (eg: fractals). too perfect, too boring

but a good work of art that incorporates a little math i would like to see

maybe a procedural-displacement-based lava-lamp? or a modern western take on the geometric art u see in old islamic churches?
